Batulicin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Bumbu Fisheries Counseling Association (Ipkani) planting coral reefs by transplants at Angsana Beach tourist area.
Chairman of the Ipkani Tanah Bumbu Eko Priyo Raharjo in Batulicin on Monday said this activity as a form of concern for coral reefs in the Angsana Beach.
According to him, the coral reef is a gathering place for breeding marine animals, shelter, and foraging for survival, so the corals should be kept and preserved.
"Procedures in the coral reef transplantation, namely by taking the seeds of sea coral reefs are then tied with mold blocks made of cement," he said.
"(But) transplantation was constrained to high waves," he said again.
In addition to using the method of transplantation, can also be done by using iron shelf, step on the stakes, and free basis.
Ipkani beside attempting to plant coral reefs also provide counseling to the community and students.
"In this event, we work closely with the Government of Tanah Bumbu, who supporting in providing a counseling to the community and students in conserving the reef," he said.
The purpose of extension to provide a stock of knowledge to the students and the coast community to preservation in the sea.
By preserving the coral reefs in the marine waters of Tanah Bumbu, especially at Angsana Beach which is currently a tourist attraction, is expected to boost tourist arrivals.
"With frequent counseling we expect the community and students able to carry out transplants and conserve coral reefs," he explained.
