Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin City Minimum Wage (UMK) to be determined is higher than the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) in 2016.
Head of Banjarmasin Social and Labor Agency Agus Surono at City Hall on Wednesday said the city government has submitted a draft determination of UMK 2016, which amount Rp2.150.000.
The man who also served as the Acting City Secretary said, MSE is indeed a little higher than the UMP already presented by the South Kalimantan provincial government by Rp2.085.050 in 2016.
According to him, the wage in this area in accordance with UMK shall take effect on the payment of wages in January 2016, so that he expects all companies in this area to comply.
However, Agus said, if there is a company not able or mind paying its workers wages according to UMK will be implemented next year then it welcome to express their objection to the Social Welfare and Labor Agency.
He explained, Banjarmasin UMK this year actually increased by only a few percent, for the MSE 2015 is Rp1.925.000.
"We hope that a percentage of this increase can bring prosperity for the workers, and their lives can also be increased," he said.
