Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Pertamina Hulu Indonesia Region 3 Zone 9 Tanjung Field, Tabalong District, nowadays relies on oil production in the Warukin and Tanjung fields.
In these two oil fields around 134 oil wells, including39 injection wells, are still productive, the Tanjung Field Manager Sigid Setiawan expounded here on Wednesday.
"The achievement of oil production last year was 104 percent or 2,103 barrels per day from the Government's Work Plan by relying on productive wells in Warukin and Tanjung fields," said Sigid, who was accompanied by PIC Comrel Tanjung Field, Ruspandi.
Production in the Tepian Field, which had 20 oil wells, had to be stopped after it was taken over by PT Adaro Indonesia as its coal exploitation location following their agreement.
Even though only two fields left, Sigid optimistic this year's oil production target of 2,120 barrels per day can be achieved.
The Tanjung oil field has been explored since 1898.
Now, with various strategies to boost oil production, Pertamina applies the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) with polymer flooding method.
Generally, EOR is applied to the fields that have been producing for a long time (matured field) or old wells with the aim of extracting the remaining oil that cannot be produced by primary and secondary (water flooding) method.
One of them is the polimer injection trial at the T.46 oil and gas well in Murung Pudak Sub-district since 2018 and is currently still in the evaluation stage. This trial is a collaboration of Director-General of Oil and Gas,SKK Migas (Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities), and stakeholders in Tabalong.
