Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The 101 Antasari Military Regiment Commander (Danrem) Col. Inf Muhammad Abduh Ras said the corn harvest in plots Gunung Kayangan Pelaihari locations is an effort to motivate people in the area to participate in planting corn.
"Through this pilot project communities can replicate and develop corn farming in their fields, so that food availability is maintained," said Danrem Muhammad Abduh Ras, while giving a speech at the corn crop in the plots of Gunung Kayang Pelaihari, Friday (26/6).
He said corn yields in the Tanah Laut produces 8.1 tons per hectare, while in the Sungai Ulin, Banjarbaru 5.5 tons per hectare. Corn cultivation in Banjarbaru was done by Battalion 623 Sungai Ulin.
Meanwhile, Tanah Laut Vice Regent H Sukamta expressing gratitude for the support and cooperation of the military with Tanah Laut to increase corn crop in the area.
"Our hope with the increased production of corn farmers, it could help their welfare," he explained.
