Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarmasin Naval Base has administered vaccine shots to 10,327 coastal residents of South Kalimantan in its COVID-19 vaccination drive.
"Alhamdulilah (Thank God) our vaccination achievement has reached more than 10,000 thanks to the hard work of members who tirelessly provided vaccination service to the community," said Commander of Banjarmasin Naval Base Marine Colonel (P) Herbiyantoko, M.Tr.Hanla, Monday.
He said the vaccinations were deliberately targeting coastal residents and people whose activities in the marine sector. Some areas were difficult to reach, including residents who do not have much time to visit vaccination centers while on the land.
"So we pick up the ball to the villages in the coastal areas. We even meet fishermen directly when they come from from the sea for fishing," said the Commander.
Herbi said that the COVID-19 vaccination drive will continue to run according to the program launched by the government. Moreover, based on the data obtained by officers in the field there are still residents who come to ask for vaccine jabs.
"We appreciated people who are enthusiastic about getting a vaccine jab. Thus it is hoped they will help the handling and recovery process so that the pandemic ends quickly," he said.
In the latest vaccination event, Banjarmasin Naval Baseinoculated as many as 182 residents of the river coast inWest Banjarmasin, South Banjarmasin, and North Banjarmasin, Banjarmasin City.
