Medan, N Sumatra (ANTARA) - The authorities of Kualanamu Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, urged aircraft passengers to download the PeduliLindungi application as one of the prerequisites to fly.
"The regulation is based on Health Ministry's circular on Health Document Number HK.02.01/MENKES/847/2021 regarding Digitalization for Air Transportation Integrated with the PeduliLindungi Application," Executive General Manager PT Angkasa Pura II Kualanamu Heriyanto Wibowo stated on Sunday.
Wibowo noted that prospective passengers must validate their health documents digitally, with effect from August 1, 2021.
Passengers must submit and validate their health documents through the PeduliLindungi Application. The required health documents are the COVID-19 vaccination certificate and printout of their negative result of the RT-PCR or RT-Antigen test, Wibowo remarked.
The authorities have implemented this program to simplify the health document validation procedure in addition to strengthening the application of health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I am optimistic that all passengers would abide by this regulation and implement the Health Ministry's circular by downloading the PeduliLindungi application," he stated.
All passengers are required to undergo a COVID-19 test at one of the 742 laboratories integrated with the New All Record (NAR) from the Ministry of Health. The result will be automatically uploaded on the PeduliLindungi app.
"A total of 34 laboratories in North Sumatra Province are affiliated with the Health Ministry in line with the ministry's circular number 4642 of 2021 regarding COVID-19 laboratories," he stated.
Wibowo later noted that the PeduliLindungi application can prevent data falsification in travel documents of passengers since PT Angkasa Pura II, as the Kualanamu Airport's operator, is mandated to ensure flight safety, security, and comfort of all passengers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Indonesian government has since the past tightened emergency public activity restrictions (PPKM) from July 3 after the daily count of COVID-19 cases spiked. The emergency PPKM rules for air transportation necessitate furnishing a vaccine certificate as one of the requirements to travel.
