Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - The Kotabaru District Naval Base, South Kalimantan, will immediately launch a program of coastal village for seaweed farming farmers group.
Kotabaru Navy Commander Marine Lt. Col. (P) Bagus Handoko, accompanied by Captain Heri here on Friday said the launching of the coastal villages is scheduled on Monday (16/3) in the village of Sarang Tiung, North Pulaulaut, Kotabaru.
Kotabaru Navy also will conduct seaweed harvest symbolically as well as providing assistance to the
desa binaan or fostered village.
Heri suggests, some of these activities as a follow-up of previous events held at the Fish Landing Base (PPI)
Kotabaru, recently.
Previously, the Navy Kotabaru involved local fishermen to secure Indonesian waters from foreign vessels fishing illegally.
Marine Lt. Col. (P) Handoko said he has asked the fishermen assist the government, if saw foreign vessels fishing to report it to Kotabaru Navy.
