According to Saibani, since the last few days the gas supply from the Barito Bridge Depot to various areas in South Kalimantan has been smooth, even now the distribution has exceeded the target from 330-350 metric tons to 450 metric tons per day.
"Now subsidized LPG is easy to obtain, even the distribution has exceeded the usual target. Hopefully, such distribution will continue until Eid," he said.
Previously, LPG transportation could not cross the Jalan Gubernur Syarkawi because the road was severely damaged after being flooded. Not any LPG transportation could pass, as a result, both subsidized and non-subsidized LPG were difficult to obtain.
The scarcity has made the price of the subsidized 3 kg LPG jumped up from Rp17,500 up to Rp50,000 at the retail level. Likewise the non-subsidized 5.5 kg LPG from the usual price Rp85,000 to Rp100,000 per tube.
Saibani said that in 2021 the quota for subsidized LPG in South Kalimantan increases about 7 percent compared to 2020 to become 3 thousand metric tons per month.
