Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Cement Industry brands `Tiga Roda` PT Indocement Plant Tarjun, Kelumpang Hilir, Kotabaru district, together with surrounding communities build three waste banks, in an effort to keep the environment clean.
Management of Indocement Plant Tarjun, Teguh Iman Basoeki on Wednesday said the three garbage banks (known here as bank sampah) are Bank Sampah Mulia, Tarjun Village, Bank Sampah Mashurin Tiga Roda Tarjun village, and Bank Sampah Andesla in Langadai village.
"Public awareness of the existence of the waste banks should be improved, either through socialization and programs initiated by the bank trash, namely Program Savings and Loan, Pay Electricity Bills, or even combined with a program of Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan)," he explained through press release.
The next step, said Teguh, increasing knowledge of waste bank officials about good management, improve service programs, dissemination throughout the fostered villages and schools, especially those around the cement plant operations.
According to him, the application of this waste bank provides many positive results, among other things, environmental conditions village now looks more clean, and the people were accustomed to discipline in maintaining cleanliness in the surrounding areas. Moreover, residents receive economic benefits by depositing trash to garbage bank.
Head of Bank Sampah Mulia, Rusminah, said since it was founded January 18, 2014, the bank has consisted of 100 members, with a last turnover Rp10,166,960.
