Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Tanah Laut Government in cooperation with South Kalimantan Indonesian Palm Oil Association of GAPKI will build a biodiesel plant in the district.
"To realize Tanah Laut as a source of energy, we've been holding GAPKI exploring the development of biodiesel plant here," said Vice Regent Drs H Sukamta in Pelaihari, Tuesday (11/11).
According to him, the construction of the biodiesel plant very likely be realized in Tanah Laut, because the raw materials derived from crude palm oil. In fact, here are many oil palm companies now produce CPO.
Vice regent hopes 10 percent of total CPO production from several existing companies here set aside for biodiesel processing.
"If this can be realized, the availability of biodiesel will be fulfilled the Tanah Laut need, hopefully it enable to supply other areas," he said.
Now the district along with South Kalimantan GAKPI looking for interested investors. "If there are investors who want to develop biodiesel, we are very grateful, especially land for our area is not a problem," he said.
Development of biodiesel is considered very supportive realization Tanah Laut as industrial areas and ports.
