Jakarta (ANTARA) - The construction progress of Greater Jakarta’s light rail transit (LRT) connecting Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi has reached 77 percent, as of September this year, according to PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk.
“The progress of each service line, namely the Cawang-Cibubur route, has reached 91 percent; the Cawang-Kuningan-Dukuh Atas route is 93 percent (complete); the Cawang-East Bekasi route is 87 percent; and the depot is 24 percent (complete),” Adhi Karya corporate secretary Parwanto Noegroho said in a statement issued in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Parwanto said that Adhi Karya has demonstrated its dedication through innovation in the form of the longest and also the first curved-span train line in Indonesia as well as the use of the first and longest U-shaped girder structure in the country.
The longest arch of the rail line, located in Kuningan, South Jakarta, holds the record for the longest span and smallest radius in a curved concrete box train bridge in Indonesia, as recorded by the Indonesian Museum Records (Muri) in November 2019.
It holds another record for the largest load-bearing capacity in Indonesia, demonstrated through axial statistical loading tests on bored pile foundations.
Meanwhile, the U-shaped girder is a construction structure adopted from France, Parwanto said.
"This technology was chosen because of its sleek design, in accordance with the availability of space in dense cities, such as Jakarta. Apart from being slim, this design has various advantages, including earthquake resistance and noise reduction," explained Parwanto.
He said the structure will also provide a walkway or space to walk.
In addition to the U-shaped girder, the Greater LRT will use third rail technology to distribute its electricity supply, so there will be no transverse cables over the line, which will add to the aesthetic and friendliness of the architecture of the city of Jakarta, he informed.
The mass transportation mode is targeted to become operational by July, 2022.
