Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - South Kalimantan Governor Rudy Ariffin claimed Ramadan Cake Fair Banjarmasin this year selling rare and unique wadai or traditional cakes.
Rare because they are not sold in the market on a typical day in the city of Banjarmasin except to look up to Cempaka, Banjar District, the Governor said when opening the RCF on the bank of Martapura River on Sunday.
According to the Governor, the traditional delicacies that appeared at the time of Ramadan including Banjar typical pastries or cakes often used at certain times, such as for salvation or festivity. He mentioned among bowsprit, apam, laksa, puracit, kelepon, lamang, bingka, kraraban, and more up to 41 traditional cake.
"I myself have nine times open Ramadan Cake Fair and always crowded with visitors including immigrants or foreign tourists," said Rudy Ariffin who twice served as the Governor of South Kalimantan.
Deputy Mayor Banjarmasin Irwan Ansari said RCF that has been cultivated since the year 1985 is a bit different this year, because it involves businesses and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) from various regions in South Kalimantan, even SMEs from Java and Sumatra.
There are 184 booths in RCF, 140 of them to merchants and cooking snacks or cake, 17 units for national SMEs from various parts of the country, the rest of the motor vehicles company.
