Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia seeks to support and encourage the development of fisheries in Central Hulu Sungai (HST) through its social program (PSBI) Dedication to the Country.
Head of HST Food Security and Fisheries Office Sunar Wiwarni here on Tuesday said the BI assistance was handed over to the Maju Bersama fish farmers group (pokdatan) of Telang Village, Batang Alai Utara Sub-district.
"Today, Bank Indonesia of South Kalimantan has inaugurated the PSBI's Dedication to the Country together with Deputy Regent Berry Nahdian Forqan accompanied by Head of BI Grup South Kalimantan Representative Rahmat Dwi Saputra," he said.
The assistance for Pokdakan Maju Bersama was five karambas (floating cages), four thousand tilapia fish seeds, and 50 sacks (1.500 kg) of feed.
The assistance also provided for Pokdakan Membangun II from Labunganak Village in the form of six karambas, 4.800 tilapia fish seeds, and 64 sacks (1.920 kg) of feed.

Through social assistance, BI also support the development of aquaculture through the strengthening of integrated program, so as to increase productivity, improving management, and distribution of production and market mechanism.
In 2019 BI had developed local fish farming cluster together with Pokdakan Maju Bersama and Pokdakan Membangun II.
Deputy Regent Berry Nahdian Forqan said BI's participation and concern helped to develop the fisheries sector was very beneficial to the community.
He hopes the cooperation between BI and HST will continue to be harmonious and sustainable, as an effort to boost the growth of real sector and MSMEs through the development of local fish farming cluster program.
