Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - South Kalimantan's export trade balance has increased in January compared to the previous month, while imports decreased.
"The value of export through ports in South Kalimantan in January has increased by 6,43 percent, and import dropped by 44,74 percent," said Head of South Kalimantan BPS Diah Utami in Banjarbaru, Monday.
The value of export in January 2020, she pointed out, has reached 623,91 million US dollars or rose 6,43 percent when compared to December 2019 with a value of 586,19 million US dollars.
The main export contributor was mineral fuel 429,85 million US dollars, followed by jewelry/diamond group, fat, animal and vegetable oil.
"The main export destination countries are China with a value of 178,89 million US dollar, Singapore 104,14 million US dollar, and India 89,97 million US dollar," she explained.
Meanwhile, the import value in January was 66,15 million US dollars or decreased by 44,47 percent compared to import in December 19,71 million US dollar or down 33,30 percent inf compared to import in January 2019.
The main import commodities were contributed by the group of mineral fuel 45,06 million US dollar, ship group 10,88 million US dollar, and machinery/mechanical aircraft 5,94 million US dollar.
"The main import is from Singapore with a value of 41,86 million US dollar, Malaysia 15,48 million US dollar dan South Korea Selatan 4,68 million US dollar," she said.
The South Kalimantan trade balance continued to show a positive value, thus it has a surplus of 357,76 million US dollars in January or smaller than in December 466,49 million US dollars.
