Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Navy Chief of Staff (KSAL) Admiral Marsetyo said three warships named typical South Kalimantan ready to operate to maintain security in the East Indonesian seas.
"Three KRI with South Kalimantan typical named are KRI Banjarmasin, KRI Lambung Mangkurat, and KRI Hasan Basri ready to be operated in January 2014," KSAL said on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Soldiers' Monument in Division IV Navy Kalimantan here on Friday.
He said the KRI Banjarmasin warship types LFD with length of 125 meters had been produced, so that the ship personnel carriers and combat equipment which is quite sophisticated can be immediately operated.
"If the ship was able to dock at the port, then its arrival conveyed to the public then they know warship with South Kalimantan typical name," The four-star general said.
The public will be given the opportunity to visit the shipscheduled to dock a few days in Banjarmasin, so it can be clearly seen that the ability of warships escortingIndonesian waters in the eastern region .
He explained that the typical South Kalimantan naming as a form of tribute to the struggle of the people of South Kalimantan in the independence, including under theleadership of Chief of the Division IV Kalimantan Brigjen TNI Navy (late) Hasan Basri.

Navy ranks with the local communities in the province," he said.
