(Antaranews, South Kalimantan) - The Central Hulu Sungai Administration develop
micro, small and medium-sized food production with local raw materials in an
effort to elevate the taste of local food.
Regent of Central
Hulu Sungai (HST) Harun Nurasid in Barabai on Monday said the district has a
potential feedstock enough food, when its benefits continue to be explored and
maximized. "I believe it is still very much production and plantation
agriculture that can be processed into food with the taste and high nutritional
value, if we continue to dig," he said.
Seeing the
huge potential, Harun has continued to campaign in order the community love the
local food, through a variety of programs such as food competition by utilizing
local food to be served in the office and home.
According
to Regent, women have great potential to elevate the taste of local food, and
introduced to the wider community that can be started from the household level.
"Households can be targeted to introduce the food of our diverse areas, eg
every morning we presented the family with wadai (cake) regional specialties
for breakfast, as well as for lunch and dinner," he said.
In
addition, processed foods could be the creative source of economic opportunity
in the future. In day-to-day activities, women can develop household food
industry through industrial processing group home processed flour, tubers, or
flour of other local ingredients. "So little by little we can reduce
dependence on rice and wheat," he said.
Realizing
these hopes, the government will also help to find a breakthrough among others
in the use of appropriate technology to improve the quality of production so as
to compete with food from outside the region.
