Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Deputy Regent of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, H Syairi Mukhlis closed the "2026 Saijaan Expo" which was held to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the district.

“The high public enthusiasm for the expo showed their pride of the region and is an indicator that the Kotabaru's economy is growing,” said Deputy Regent in Kotabaru.

He expressed his appreciation to all committee members and participants of the 2026 Saijaan Expo who contributed for the smooth and success of the event.

He also expressed his gratitude to all participants, those from the regional work units (SKPDs), sub-districts, vertical agencies, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), private companies, and MSMEs who participated to enliven the expo.

“Hopefuly this event benefits regional development and encourages development of MSMEs in Kotabaru,” he added.

Meanwhile, the winners of the 2026 Saijaan Expo were Health Office for the best booth in SKPD and agency category, the most favorite booth won by Food Security Office, and the Population and Civil Registration Office was chosen as the most creative booth.

The best booth for sub-district category was Pulau Laut Selatan, the most creative was Pulau Laut Utara, and the most favorite was Pulau Laut Sigam.

The local government also presented awards to several parties who supported the event, including sponsors and culinary business who participated in the 76th anniversary mass banquet.

The cultural performances depicting diversity of Kotabaru ethnic groups, including Banjar, Bajau, Dayak, and Bugis, marked the closing ceremony as a symbol of unity towards a brighter future.
