Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjarmasin Mayor H Ibnu Sina expressed his delight at the support of app-based motorcycle taxi drivers (ojek online or ojol) to join in the "diet" of using plastic bags so that garbage can be reduced in the capital city of South Kalimantan.
"So from now on they claim replacing plastic bags with traditional purun baskets and drinking places using tumblers. I am very happy to hear their commitment," he said after following the joint declaration of Banjarmasin city ojol on the Bekantan statue, Martapura River embankment (Siring), Monday .
As is known, he said, Banjarmasin has been very good on a plastic bag waste diet, especially in modern stores that do not provide plastic bags at all for buyers.
Application of Mayor Regulation No. 18 of 2016 concerning the prohibition of modern stores to provide plastic bags is very well implemented, and other layers of society followed to support this regulation by not using plastic waste.
"One of the layers of society that is very supportive of this is the online motorcycle taxi drivers, hopefully they will become an example for others," said Ibn Sina.
