Research, Technology and Higher Education Minister (Menristekdikti) Prof. Mohamad Nasir inaugurated 12 new buildings at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Tuesday (5/3).
According to the minister, the addition of facilities and infrastructure is an extraordinary achievement of ULM. Of course with the full support of the government of President Joko Widodo, where ULM became the fifth building of all projects that the ministry has built.
"The existence of these new buildings has increased tremendously. In fact, it has doubled from the previous building, which was 29,000 square meters," the minister said.
Nasir hopes along with the progress of ULM, it can continue to improve the quality of learning to be able to show itself as a leading and competitive superior university.
"ULM must contribute to increasing the human resources in South Kalimantan, because the people of South Kalimantan must have quality education," he stressed.
In particular Nasir also appreciated the ULM Rector Prof. Sutarto Hadi who had worked hard to advance the pride of the South Kalimantan community.
"Of the only 4 study programs accredited A, now there are 21 accreditation study programs A. It is truly hard work done by the chancellor. Also 43 professors and the number continues to increase significantly," he said.
While Sutarto Hadi said, the presence of 12 new buildings and 1 infrastructure from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) fund was a significant advance.
"We hope that the APK can go up, the learning process will improve and accreditation will increase. Please pray for one or two days, we are waiting for the results of university institution accreditation to achieve A," he explained.
The inauguration event was centered at the General Building Library. Menristekdikti along with ULM Rector and HR and Community Expert Staff Ahmad Sofyan representing South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor hit beduk to mark the inauguration of 12 new buildings and one infrastructure in ULM.
