Since its launch a year ago on January 21, 2018, the Banjarbaru Police's Siharat application has been increasingly felt by the people in the city.

They only need to open the app, press the panic button, then police help will come right away.

Just like Budi Pranoto's experience. The satay seller pressed the emergency button in Siharat's application because there was a snake in his house.

"Thank God, the police quickly came and caught a large snake hiding in the ceiling of the house," he said.

Another story from Edy Sulistyo, security officer of the Idaman Hospital in Banjarbaru, who asked for help through the Siharat application because there was a patient diagnosed with dengue needing immediate blood.

Siharat's quick response followed up, up to 7 blood bags were collected according to the needs of a patient named Muhammad Irfan at the Number 15 Kasuari Room.

"In less than five minutes, the police arrived at the hospital and donated blood. At that time, a cop informed his blood-O colleagues to collect seven people," said Edy.

The Banjarbaru Police Chief Adj Sr. Comr Kelana Jaya said, Siharat was an acronym of Siap Hadapi Beragam Kejahatan (Ready to Deal with Various Crimes) in fact it really wanted to bring the police in any situation needed by the community, even for small things.

"Over time, Siharat's app not only handles the situation of security and order and facilitates public services at the police station. However, it also handles social problems, such as people experiencing flat tire at midnight in vulnerable areas. Also, people who need blood donors, install gas cylinder regulators, up to domestic violence cases and snakes in the house," Kelana told Antara News Agency on Thursday (28/2).
