Amuntai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Government of the North Hulu Sungai, South Kalimantan, focuses on handling stunting due to nutritional problems.

Head of Economic, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure of HSU's Research and Development Planning Agency (Bappelitbang) Radiatam Mardiyah here on Friday said efforts to overcome dwarfism (stunting) are now also a central government program.

"The central government is also focusing on the national movement to accelerate nutrition improvement," he said.

Through this momentum, his party seeks to utilize every central program related to handling nutritional problems to be directed towards reducing the stunting rate due to nutritional problems in the district.

"Through this national movement in districts and cities, including HSU, we also prepared Food and Nutrition Action Plans which we aim to reduce stunting cases," Radiatam said.

The Regional Food and Nutrition Action Plan (RAD-PG) also involves the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) in HSU and the Health Agency to oversee the quality of food and snacks from toxic and dangerous ingredients.

The Bappelitbangda, he said, also prepared a draft team formation and distribution of the RAD-PG work program in 2019 before being submitted to the HSU Regent.

Previously, the food security team involving several agencies had implemented five pillars, namely improving nutrition, increasing diverse food accessibility, increasing quality control and food security, improving clean and healthy living behaviors, as well as food and nutrition institutions.
