Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) -  The Tabalong Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Hardiono expected all members of the Bhayangkara National Public Order Police (Bhabinkamtibnas) to oversee the use of village funds.

"As an effort to prevent misuse of village funds Bahabinkamtibnas are expected to conduct supervision," said Hardiono in Tanjung on Tuesday.

In Tabalong there are 121 recipients of village funds, and supervision by Bhabinkamtibnas is applied in conjunction with a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Police.

Hardiono, during a meeting with the entire Bhabinkamtibnas, sector police chief and the local Community Empowerment and Village Governance Agency, asked the Bhabinkamtibnas to ensure the village head understood the use of village funds, both from state budget (APBN) and local budget (APBD).

But, he asked, Bhabinkamtibnas in conducting supervision should not interfere with the use of these funds and only limited to give advice.

"I want the monitoring of village funds to be the priority task of Bhabinkamtibnas and ensure its implementation is transparent," explained Hardiono.

Head of Community Empowerment and Village Government Agency Arianto said the total village funds this year are about Rp183 billion and 62 percent have been transferred to village accounts.

"The use of village funds is prioritized for community empowerment and improvement of the local economy," Arianto said.
