The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) team succeeded in becoming champion four years in a row after this year winning the National Anatomy Olimpiad (Amygdala) hosted by Anatomy Laboratory of Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM).

"Alhamdulilah this is a tremendous achievements achieved by ULM's Faculty of Medicine and Health Science by defending championship at National Anatomy Olimpiad," said ULM Rector Ahmad Alim Bachri in Banjarmasin, Saturday.

Tis year a total 127 teams from universities in took part in Amygdala 2024.

ULM's Faculty of Medicine and Health Science was represented by Marcellino Febryan and Dimas Ari Muzaqi Putra.

They both had to fight from online prelimanary round which was then continued with olympic in quarter to final at UMM.

From prelimanary round to quarter final, Marcellino and Dimas consistently got quite good results. 

Then, in the semifinal of quiz bowl, they grabbed first place with the highest score.

Until entering the final round with the fast accurate competition, ULM team won first place in the 2024 Amygdala.

ULM Rector said this achievement had maintained the reputation of ULM's Faculty of Medicine and Health Science which consistently won the national event.

"Even in the international event, this year two students from ULM Medical Professonal Education, Gastin Gabriel Jangkang and Andi Azizah Maulidia Budiarman, took part in 2024 Harvard College Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) in Bangkok, Thailand," he said.
