The Regent of Kotabaru H Sayed Jafar led the Seconds to the Independence Proclamation ceremony that for the first time took place in the courtyard of the Regent's Office in Sebelimbingan Village, Saturday (August 17, 2024).

The Regent hopes that this new office complex to provide the best services for the community of the District of Kotabaru.

"We are now at the Regent's Office in Sebelimbingan, right at the moment of the 79th Independence Day (August 17) commemoration. We are carrying out handovers, awarding, as well as signing and distributing aids," said the Regent in press release, Saturday.

Yesterday, the Regent continued, we inaugurated the Floating Stage and the Cruise Ship Mosque, all of this was in the series of Independence Day commemoration.

This year's Independence Day commemoration held the theme "New Nusantara Advanced Indonesia" to coincide with three important moment for Indonesia, the welcoming of the new capital of Nusantara (IKN), transition of president, and moving toward Golden Indonesia 2045.

The ceremony was attended by the district leadership communication forum (forkopimda), the regional work units (SKPD), Kotabaru TP PKK and other women's organizations.

Sub-district heads, community organizations, state civil apparatus (ASN) of Kotabaru, TNI-Polri, Satpol-PP, college and school students, as well as community leaders and religious leaders. 

The second to proclamation ceremony starting at 09.25 Wita marked by the sound of car sirens for a few seconds, followed by the reading of the text of Proclamation of the Independence of Indonesia by Chairman of Kotabaru DPRD Syairi Mukhlis.

A total of 32 national flag-raising troop (Paskibraka) members were selected students, each representing high schools (SMA/SMK/MAN) in Kotabaru. 

The raising of Red and White flag led by the Ceremonial Commander First Lieutenant Inf. Setiawan from 1004 Kotabaru Military Command ran well and solemnly.

In the series of ceremony, a certificate award from Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) was handed over to Kotabaru Regent H. Sayed Jafar as an Innovative Regional Head in Tourism Development which has an impact on increasing the regional income.

The Regent also received the Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (PDTT) Ministry's award for his commitment and hard work in encouraging acceleration of village development until villages status improved to be independent, advanced and developing.

An award also from the Governor of South Kalimantan as the district with the second largest investment in South Kalimantan in 2023.

Submission of grant for e-TLE system implementation, submission of grants from Kotabaru government to STKIP Paris Barantai Kotabaru, and grants to Lambung Mangkurat University in the PSDKU program in Kotabaru.

Handover of Satya Lencana to 7 people, retirement gratitude to 3 recipients, promotional decree for 3 people, awarding SKPD with the best tax reconciliation results in 2024.

Medals were handed over to outstanding athletes, handover of Community Health Insurance compensation, and the signing of a joint agreement between the Kotabaru government and PLN, as well as the inauguration of the Sebelimbingan Kotabaru Regent's Office, Kotabaru Bamega Hall which was marked by the signing of an inscription by the Regent.

The activity continued with visiting the Heroes Graves and scattering flowers which is a routine agenda in commemorating the Independence Day.
