Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor had covered a distance of 1,263 kilometers riding trail motor in his 10th village touring (or what called as turdes) to 12 districts and city and at the same time breaking his own record.
The Governor and hundreds of bikers who followed him had completed the touring at the Alam Roh 24, Sungai Tiung Village, Cempaka Sub-district, Banjarbaru City, on July 6, 2024, the Provincial Secretary Roy Rizali Anwar informed here on Sunday.
"The long jurney of the 2024 village touring with the Governor and Acil Odah (or Aunty Odah, Governor's wife) can be completed smoothly and safely," said Roy.
The turdes, which crossing hundreds of villages and greeting people, was themed "Breaking the 10th limit, moving with people power towards a Golden Indonesia, love country".
The Governor explored a number of villages spread across 12 districts and city beginning from Banjarbaru City, to the districts of Tanah Laut, Kotabaru, Tanah Bumbu, South Hulu Sungai, Central Hulu Sungai, Balangan, Tabalong, North Hulu Sungai, Tapin, Barito Kuala, and Banjar.

Governor, who is popularly called Uncle Birin, was accompanied by Chairperson of South Kalimantan PKK Raudhatul Jannah or Acil Odah. While touring, they carried out some programs, including facilities assistance for BUMDes (village-owned enterprises), mass circumcisions, distributing basic food, planting trees, as well as absorbing aspirations of rural communities.
"When going through a bad road, the governor immediately instructs repairmen to be conducted immediately," he said.
Roy, representing the Governor, expressed gratitude to all motorists or bikers who accompanied him to make the 10th turdes a success as the Governor entered the end of his two term leadership.
"I on behalf of the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan, from the initial preparation, the meeting, until now, if there are anything unpleasant, I apologize profusely," said Roy reading the Governor's remarks.
Governor, Roy said, hopes that people were not only happy to see their regional head came down and directly mingle to collect aspiration, but also felt the benefits through basic food assistance and infrastructure using the province's budget allocation through the turdes.
"I ask heads of government agencies (SKPD), to take materials obtained during the turdes, as evaluation material in prepapring priority programs, so that the community really feel the benefits as is directed by the Governor and PKK Chairwoman Acil Odah," said Roy.
Governor in his 10th turdes had broken his own MURI record in 2023 turdes which covering 1,000 kilometers.
