The Kotabaru government and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) of South Kalimantan Representative had inked a joint commitment to collaborate in improving financial accountability and development as well as implementing an integrated SPIP 2024.

Kotabaru Regent Sayed Jafar said the agreement aims to develop government management in order to realize good governance within the Kotabaru District Government.

"Today we jointly sign a cooperative commitment to improve financial accoutability and development as well as a joint commitment to implement integrated SPIP 2024 within the Kotabaru Regency Government," said Sayed Jafar here as reported on Tuesday (June 25, 2024).

The signing was also to follow up the South Kalimantan BPKP Head's letter No. PE.13.04/S-867/PW16/3/2024 dated June 12, 2024 concerning the Implementation of the 2024 Regional Government Integrated SPIP Maturity Self-Assessment/Quality Assurance.

The maturity of integrated SPIP implementation consists of several component, including the Government Internal Control System (SPIP), Risk Management Index  (MRI), and Corruption Control Effectiveness Index (IEPK).

The Regent expressed his thanks and appreciation to BPKP head who has helped and synergized in the government administration and financial management as well as increasing human resources capability within the Kotabaru District Government.

He hopes that this commitment to be implemented sooner so that the objectives of their agreement can be achieved well.

"In realizing good governance, SPIP has an important role to play, namely effectiveness, efficiency and security of state assets as compliance with regulations," he explained.

With this commitment it is hoped that SPIP can detect early the occurance of acts that are detrimental to the region and the country.

Head of South Kalimantan BPKP Ayi Riyanto said that Kotabaru Regency has a promising potential.

He really appreciated the activities held by the government of Kotabaru.

"Such a commitment is an effort that should be made by all the regional government, because if we talk about SPIP, SPIP is the most important tips and the super main thing is control," he said.

The activity was also attended by Kotabaru Inspector, expert staff and assistants as well as heads of the Kotabaru Government Working Unit (SKPD), sub-district heads throughout Kotabaru, and SKPD assessors.
