A South Kalimantan DPRD member appreciates the achievements and innovation have been made by Kotabaru, the most eastern district in the province.
"We should appreciate the achievements and innovation of the Kotabaru District Government," said Deputy Chairperson of South Kalimantan DPRD's Comission II overseeing Economy and Finance Muhammad Yani Helmi, Sunday night.
Muhammad Yani Helmi, a legislator from "Kota Bamega" (Kotabaru's nickname), who is popularly called Uncle Yani, expressed his appreciation after attending the 74th Anniversary of Kotabaru.
"Especially that the theme of the commemoration is 'Manjulang Manuntung Akan Amanah' (local language means upholding trust)," said the people's representative from the electoral district of South Kalimantan VI (Kotabaru and Tanah Bumbu).

Uncle Yani lauded the district government's innovation and creativity in various programs and policies.
"This includes the use of technology and the new approaches in facing the development challanges," said Uncle Yani, who is also Deputy Chair of the Golkar Party Fraction of South Kalimantan DPRD.
According to him, the theme of the commemoration was appropriate considering the importance of maintaining trust for the government in carrying out their duties and responsibilities and it reflects the commitment of the regional government led by Regent H. Sayed Jafar Alaydrus.
Synergy between various parties, he added, is the key to achieving sustainable success.
The momentum of the event was also marked by the inauguration of dancing fountain in Siring Laut Park tourist area by Governor H Sahbirin Noor and Deputy Governor H. Mudhidin.
"With the spirit of mutual cooperation and hard work of all parties, I am optimistic that Kotabaru's future can achieve its vision of becoming the glorious and prosperous region," he said.
Also present were other members of South Kalimantan DPRD from Electoral District VI, namely Secretary of Commission II HM Iqbal Yudianor and Commission IV for Welfare H Risdianto Haleng HB.
