The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) has just graduated a Doctor of Environmental Science, which was the first to be graduated by state university (PTN) in Kalimantan.

"The graduation of Pardi Affandi is certainly a pride for ULM," said ULM's Deputy Chancellor I for Academics Iwan Aflanie in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Friday.

The ULM Doctoral Program for Environmental Science firstly received it students in 2022.

During two years and 10 months of study, Pardi Affandi has produced two scientific papers, which were published in the reputable international journal Scopus with rankings Q4 and Q1. 

His dissertation is entitled “Mathematical Model of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Epidemiology".

Iwan said that the Environmental Science Doctoral Program, which accreditated excellent by BAN-PT, is a multidisciplinary doctoral program whcih aims to meet the needs of superior human resources. 

Graduates of this program are able to answer the environmental problems as well as natural resources management (SDA). 

This program synergizes technological development and innovation in the sustainable use of wetland environments.

Currently, ULM has nine doctoral (S3) program, namely the Agricultural Science Doctoral Program, Development Studies Doctoral Program, Environmental Science Doctoral Program, Law Doctoral Program, Medical Science Doctoral Program, Management Science Doctoral Program, Educaational Administration Doctoral Program, Indonesian Language Doctoral Program, and Social Sciences Education Doctoral Program.
