The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) has produced 651 nurses to support health services in Kalimantan and mostly in South Kalimantan.

"We have had 20 batches of graduates from the ULM Nursing Profession Program which produces professional nurses," said ULM Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs Iwan Aflanie in Banjarmasin.

Nursing Profession Program at the ULM Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, he expounded, is an advanced program for students who want to become professional nurses.

Students who take this program who passed the academic stage and will hold a bachelor nursing degree or S1 Nursing.

In education, nursing students carry out practical learning directly, so they can easily adapt to providing nursing care to patients in hospitals, clinics, community health centers, comunities, nursin care, and others.

Iwan reminded that nursing profession is wholeheartedness, sincere in doing duties as well as possible. They must prioritize human side in providing services to people who need help.

"Nurses contribute greatly to patient health care while in health care facilities by giving medicine according to doctor's prescription," he said.

Previously, ULM has held the 20th Nurses Appointment and Oath ceremony at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. As many as 61 nurses inaugurated on May 8, 2024.
