Syamsudin Noor Banjarmasin International Airport has transported 11,744 homecoming travelers on D-5 or five days before Eid on seven route to and from Banjarmasin.

"There was an increase of 36 percent compared to the same period last year," said Iwan Risdianto, Stakeholder Relation Manager of Syamsudin Noor Airport in Banjarbaru, Saturday (April 6, 2024).

There were 99 aircraft movements or increased by 24 percent from last year's Eid.

The cargo with a load of 131,517 kilograms also increased by 56 persen from 2023.

This positive growth, he said, was a good news for aviation activity at Syamsudin Noor during this year's Eid season, which provides route to Jakarta, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Bali, Makasar and Balikpapan.

On the mudik or homecoming momentum of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah, the state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura I held an Eid Air Transport Command Post at the Exhibition Hall of Arrival Terminal.

The post to be held for 16 days from 3 to 18 of April 2024 in collaboration with TNI, Polri, Basarnas, airlines, Perum LPPNPI (Airnav), BMKG, Banjarmasin Port Health Office, and other airport community.

The airport and all related elements have anticipated a surge in the airport activities as well as abnormal condition that may occur during the homecoming flow.
