Governor of South Kalimantan H Sahbirin Noor, together with staff and various parties, carried out reforestation by planting more than a thousand trees in the area of Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarbaru City, Friday.
"The tree planting action should not only for quantity target, but must be able to move and change people's behavior with full awarness to play their role in planting and maintain trees," he said.
Governor said this is a green revolution movement action that began in 2017 to keep going and intensifying until now by planting and continuing to plant.
"The more parties involved, the faster we can reforest Banua Kalsel (the region of South Kalimantan)," he pointed out.
The governor, who is familiarly called Uncle Birin, was very grateful for the involvement of related parties in today's tree planting as an ongoing effort on reforestation movement.
"Indeed, greening which continues to be promoted through the green revolution movement has received support from various parties," he said.

Head of South Kalimantan Forestry Office Fathimatuzzahra said more than 1,600 tree seedlings were planted in the action led by the governor in the airport area.
The types of trees planted to green the airport area, where the condition is still a lot of shrub, were mahoni, pulai and bintaro.
According to her, the South Kalimantan green revolution movement has become the project of the national environment preservation program.
The green revolution movement has succeeded in reducing critical land since it was promoted in 2017. From 2013 data, critical land in South Kalimantan was 640,000 hectares, from 2017 to 2018 the green revolution has reduced it to 522,000 hectares and in 2022 only 450,000 hectares remain.
"By continuing to intensify green revolution led by the governor, critical land in South Kalimantan continues to decrease. The target is 20,000 hectares to be reforested per year," she said.
