The Provincial Government of South Kalimantan facilitatingKandangan Dodol small-and medium-scale industry (IKM) players in South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District to study to Garut District, West Java.
Head of Industrial Resources Development of the South Kalimantan Industry Office Saptono here on Thursday said Garut is a famous dodol production city in Indonesia.
Saptono hopes that dodol industry players from Kandangan to learn a lot from the well-known traditional snack of Garut Dodol.
For this reason, the provincial government provides assistance facilities about dodol indutry by involving three players of Kandangan Dodol to Garut.
"Everything is learned, from production process, packaging, and promotion," he said.
Saptono said that the government conduct emulating study to Garut District in order to improve processing and developing of dodol industry in Kandangan.
"Hopefully in the future we can improve product quality, packaging innovation, amd better production processing considering Kandangan Dodol is part of Meratus Geopark in south Kalimantan," he said.
Kandangan Dodol is part of the heritage of this region, which is quite well-kown. It is even an important part, brought as sourvenir by tourists when returning home.
