Kandangan, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS) Regency, South Kalimantan, held Kandangan Dodol Creation Festival to mark its 75th anniversary.
"On behalf of the district government, we appreciate all MSMEs, dodol artisans, contest participants, and all parties who contribute to this festival," said HSS Regent H. Syafrudin Noor in his remarks.
The festival held in two places, in front of the MTQ Building and the Kandangan City Basketball Court, Saturday (November 29, 2025).
The Regent emphasized the importance of preserving the wealth of the regional culinary specialties, especially the widely known Kandangan dodol --chewy sweet made from glutinous rice flour, coconut milk and palm sugar-- which has become one of the culinary identities of HSS.

The Regent hopes it will not stop here, but to be followed up to continue encouraging the growth of MSMEs in the region.
“Kandangan dodol has many fans and is our regional specialty. Through this festival, we want to improve the quality and creativity of our product, while promoting our region more widely,” he said.
The festival displayed hot dodol making action, dodol creation contest, and dodol cooking demonstration featuring two national chefs: Chef Agus Sasirangan from Banjarmasin and Chef Muto from Jakarta, and free dodol tasting session.

MSMEs and dodol artisals from various places in HSS participated in the festival.
The Chairperson of HSS Family Empowerment and Welfare driving team (TP-PKK) Hj Mustaidah Syafrudin Noor served as a judge alongside Chef Agus Sasirangan and Chef Moe, who professionally assessed the participants' dodol creations.
The attendance of these famous chefs provided enthusiasm and added value to the competition participants.
