Regent of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Sayed Jafar, received an Appreciation of Resilience and Sustainable Industry 2023 award from Ministry of Industry for his role in resilience and progress of industry and industrial area in the region.
"It is a success and an honor for the government of Kotabaru and all its community for the collaboration of the industrial infrastructure development has brought the ecosystem of industrial infrastructure in Kotabaru to be better," he said here, Friday.
Minister of Industry Agus Guwimang at the awarding ceremony confirmed that Indonesia's manufacturing industry has proven resilient to difficulties and shocks amidst the global economic slowdown.
It was reflected from the consistency of non-oil and gas process in industry which makes the largest contribution of 18.75 percent to the national gross domestic product (GDP) in the third quarter in 2023.
At the same time, the processing industry grew positively by 5.20 percent (yoy), surpassing economic growth which is 4.94 percent at the same period.
For these achievements, the Minister of Industry presented Resilience and Sustainable Industry Appreciation awards to industrial business actors, industrial areas, and local governments.
There were 27 companies, 23 industrial areas that received the awards, including nine regional heads, one of them was Regent of Kotabaru and the award was received by Head of Cooperative, Trade and Industry Office Hardani on behalf of Kotabaru Regent Sayed Jafar.
Kotabaru received the second best award in Indonesia for the Industrial Use Area (KPI) category at the award ceremony held at JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (Dec 11, 2023).
"It is hoped that this award to encourage industrial players to increase their investment higher in Kotabaru," said the Regent.
