Tourism, Youth and Sports Office (Disparpora) of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan,showcased 17 creative economy products of the district small and medium enterprises (UMKM) in Bali.

"Among the 17 products are typical Kotabaru products, such as amplang (savory fish cracker snack), sambal (chili sauce of) tembayangan and others," said PPTK PEP& Ekraf officer of Kotabaru Diparpora Ida Trisanti in Kotabaru, Friday.

Disparpora also displayed a number of crafts, such as sea pandan and sasirangan typical of Kotabaru.

She said, tourism in Kotabaru is growing rapidly, so it needs promotion in various events. 

The participation of Kotabaru Tourism in the expo in Bali is a form of commitment of the regional government to promoting creative economy-based tourism.

In addition to promoting MSMSs products, Kotabaru also displayed arts and culture of "Bumi Saijaan" (Kotabaru's nickname).

"Bali tourists are not only local but also foreign, so we promote our tourism here," she said.

By carrying out promotion at national events, it is hoped that it will provide knwoledge to tourists and could increase the number of foreign tourists coming to Kotabaru.

The expo, which was opened by Head of Bali Tourism Office Tjok Bagus Pemayun, was attended by participants from representives of various regions in Indonesia.

Among them were Aceh Province, Bali Province, Banten Province, South Papua Province, Central Kalimantan Province, Badung District, Paser District, Kotabaru District, Balikpapan City, and Makassar City.
