The Batulicin Immigration in Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan, has deported a foreign citizen from China with the initials ZZJ (42) after a week of staying in the district.


"ZZJ aged 42 was detained by Batulicin Immigration officers on October 10, 2023 in Satui sub-district," said Head of Batulicin Immigration I Gusti Bagus M Ibrahim here, Friday (Oct 13, 2023).

He said the deportation will be carried out on October 14, 2023 via Sukarno-Hatta International Airport in accordance with the decree of the Head of the Batulicin Immigration No. W.19.IMI.IMI.2-GR.03.09-2036 of 2023.

Previously, the immigration had carried out inspection in accordance with the applicable standard operating procedure by priortizing professionalism.

Based on the examination, he had violated Article 116 letter b Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. ZZJ was unable to show travel document or stay permit when asked by immigration officer.

The Chinese citizen was subject to administrative immigration action in accordance with Article 75 paragraph 1 and 2 for carrying out dangerous activities or suspected of endangering security and public order or not respecting or obeying laws and regulations.

"So far, In 2023, Batulicin Immigration Office has deported two foreigners from China. First in online gambling case, which was handled by Kotabaru Police, and the second cannot show immigration document when checked," said Gusti.

Currently, the number of foreign citizens living in Tanah Bumbu District has reached 145 people and 798 people in Kotabaru District.
