Antasari State Islamic University (UIN Antasari) in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, graduated 1,000 undergraduates of 77th class, and the 47th class masters and doctors at its Campus 2 in Banjarbaru city, Saturday.

Chancellor of UIN Antasari Prof. Mujiburahman said more that 50 percent of them graduated with highest honor (GPA of 3.50–4.00).

He extended the progress of the UIN Antasari campus that has made many conviniences, including accepting more than 40 foreign students.

The figure, he said, based on data collection from the Immigration Office, was the largest among universities.

It was the result of hard work and international collaboration of the Asian Islamic Universities Association (AIUA) which he presided. 
 
"We can't be frogs in a shell, just good at cage, we have to collaborate with anyone who want to build goodness for humanity," he said.

In the academic year of 2023/2024, UIN receives five new students from Thailand. Previously, students from Malaysia and Turkiye were admitted.
 
“Because of that, these brothers, when they were at college, were forced to wake up at dawn so they could learn foreign language in the morning,” Mujib recalled.

Other programs that the graduates are proud was boarding house, also Banjar and Melayu Corner on the ground floor of Campus 1 Library Building.
 
“I really like this facility, because we are invited not to abandon Islamic traditions,” said M Zaki Mubarak, the best graduate of 77th Bachelor Graduation period 2023.

For the first time, graduation ceremony at UIN Antasari was held in two sessions, morning and noon, with a total 1.000 graduates, to fulfill community aspiration.
 
"From the data on graduates it can be seen that 55.1 percent of with great praise, 43.2 percent very satisfactory, 0.4 percen with satisfactory, and others is 0 percent,” said Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs and Institutional Development of UIN Antasari Banjarmasin Nida Mufidah.
