Regent of Tabalong, South Kalimantan, H Anang Syakhfiani was selected by the Tempo Magazine as one of Indonesian figure driving community economy through his Gerbang Emas credit policy.
President Director of Tempo Media Group Arief Zulkifli said the Indonesian Figure was a form of the magazine's appreciation to regional heads who have a good performance and gave a positive impact on their people.
"A good performance in encouraging people's economy deserved to be appreciated as an Indonesian Figure," he said.
The appreciation of the Indonesian Figures chosen by Tempo was held at the Ritz Charlton Hotel Jakarta and was attended by Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Administrative and Bureraucratic Reform, and Minister of Transportation, Tuesday (August 29, 2023).
Tempo Magazine considered that Anang Syakhfiani worthy of being the Indonesian People's Economy Driving Figure through his flagship program of Gerbang Emas credit in a strive to improve traders and small entrepreneurs in their struggling business in Bumi Saraba Kawa (nickname of Tabalong).
Gerbang Emas is a business loan with zero percent interest have been running for more than 5 years in the district and have a significant impact on the growth of MSMEs and reducing traders and small entrepreneurs from being victimized by loan shark.
As many as 1.931 traders and small entrepreneurs were recorded to have been caught up in moneylenders, but then the number continues to decrease by 864 as debtors of Gerbang Emas continues to increase.
In addition to use methode of observation, the assessment of the Tempo's Indonesian Figure also used secondary data, such as the BPS statistical data and others.
