The Fishery Office of Tapin District, South Kalimantan, has allocated a budget of IDR595 million to develop and strengthen people's economy in villages through fish cultivation. 

"There are eight villages that receive grants for fish farmin. Yes, this is the 2023 program," said Head of Aquaculture Division of the Tapin Fishery Office Bambang Poerwanto in Rantau, Friday.  
Cultivation media for each area will be different, he said, some use biofloc systems, others use ponds or cage. 

"The fish are also different," he explained. 

Currently the number of fish cultivators in are relatively small. The program, he said, is also an effort to boostproduction to meet the market needs. 

"Production from 2021 to 2022 has increased from 277,007 kg to 425,216 kg," he said.

Villages or benefiacy groups are Karang Taruna (Youth Group) of Marampiau Village (for cultivating tilapia fish), Maju Bersama of Baringin A Village (carp or gurame), Athifatul Khabir (catfish), Bina Karya Makmur of Papagan Makmur Village (snakehead fish). 

Then, Tunas Muda Youth Group, Kembang Kuning Village(catfish), Bina Muda Youth Group, Pantai Cabe Village(tilapia), PKK Vilage Group (catfish), and Ramani Besar, Pabaungan Hilir Village.
