Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Kotabaru that is in Indonesia shaft and into the Indonesian archipelagic sea lanes (ALKI) II determined to synergize the development directions of sea toll with an Integrated Economic Area or KEK and the development of New Town Maritime Pamukan.


Head of Kotabaru Development Planning Board H Ansyar Noor here on Thursday said if they all can be synergized, then Kotabaru will be a thriving city to support Indonesia as a strong maritime country.

"Another thing that is not less important is the geological location of Kotabaru free from the threat of earthquakes and tsunamis," he said.

Meanwhile, the acting Regent of Kotabaru H Isra, after listening to descriptions of developing a marine toll lanes by the Dean of Faculty of Marine Fisheries University of Hasanuddin Makassar Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa, said Kotabaru potentially be a Indonesia sea toll road.

"Kotabaru regency will continue to clean and prepare everything to advance to the national forum in promoting its potential as an Indonesia sea toll lane," he said.

Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa said today Kotabaru district already meets the prerequisites as sea toll, namely the availability of a reliable port development in Mekarputih, inland effective access, availability of sufficient cargo (coal, oil palm plantations, and agricultural commodities) as well as regularly scheduled ships.

He explains, marine toll itself is a breakthrough development with the government's goal of increasing prosperity during this lame between west and east, between the thriving islands with small islands.

The sea toll solution is the preparation of large ships for the distribution of goods ranging from Sumatra to Papua.

One consequence of the preparation of large ships is the availability of adequate infrastructure such as ports and other transportation.

Kotabaru government participation in this program is a contribution to the public welfare as the Maritime State.
