The Kotabaru Legislative Council (DPRD) member Denny Hendro Kurnianto appreciated the Indonesian Society Recreation Sports Committee (KORMI) holding a selection for the district's recreational sports festivals (Forda) in collaboration with the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office.
"I appreciate KORMI for organizing traditional recreational sports activities, as well as an effort to preserve traditional sports," he said as reported from Kotabaru, Monday.
"I see that the Kotabaru KORMI is really serious in its programs, I see the boards and coordinators, both the district and provincial," he said.
Chairman of Kotabaru KORMI Eny Siswati expounded that the festival is to let people know what is the traditional recreational sports.
"We hope that Kotabaru will be able to represent South Kalimantan later at the national level in Palembang July 2022," she said.
Assistant for Economic Development of Kotabaru Administration H Ahmad Rivai said Forda at the district level in Kotabaru is the right momentum to introduce and popularize recreational sports in the community, in the hope to realize the development goal in sports, especially recreational sports.
