Residents of Balida Village, Paringin Sub-district, Balangan, who are members of Tourism Awareness Group, Green Community Forum, and the Village Consultative Body planted rare trees in a number of tourist sites and riverbanks in eco-camp activities.
Ecocamp is a program initiated by Adaro in 2015 and has been re-implemented by environmental activists in Balangan District, South Kalimantan.
"This planting tree is a form of our support for ecological awareness through eco-camp," said Balida Village Head Syahridin.
Among rare trees planted were durian lahung, ramania, mangosteen, ginalon, maritam and papakin. The plant seeds were supplied as assistance from the Balangan government through the Climate Village program.

In addition to rare tree planting which aimed to encourage people's ecological awareness, the eco-camp was also filled with waste management activities and making compost.
Previously, Adaro was active in sending environmental activists from various professions and generations to participate in Green Leader program entitled Ecocamp which was held by Sahabat Lingkungan Hidup Foundation, Bandung.
By participating the Ecocamp they recognized seven ecological awareness, including managing weakness and being responsible, simplicity in lifestyle, and mindset.
Frugal awareness in the use of resources, care for oneself, others, and the environment.
Besides, sharing with all limitation, being meaningful in life, and being a person who brings hope in society.
