The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) through the Syamsudin Noor Banjarmasin Meteorological Station warned of high tide or tidal flood to hit Banjarmasin City and Kotabaru District in the next two days.
"People are advised to anticipate the impact of maximum tidal of seawater," said a Syamsudin Noor Meteorological Station forecaster Fitma Surya Arghani in Banjarbaru, Friday.
Rob, he said, potentially in low areas. In Banjarmasin, the maximum tide is estimated to occur between 22.00 to 03.00 Wita. Meanwhile, in Kotabaru between 21.00 to 22.00 Wita (Central Indonesia Time).
Fitma explained that the flood due to the sea tidal activity and the new moon phase, increased rainfall, and the potential of fairly strong wind could affect coastal dynamics in South Kalimantan waters.
It has an impact on disruption of transportation around the port and coast, land fishery activities, and loading and unloading activities at the port.
In the case of high rainfall on the mainland that triggers overflow floods or flash floods, added Fitma, rob conditions on the coast can inhibit the receding of the flood around the area.

BMKG also warned of the impact of heavy rains in South Kalimantan with an alert status, namely in districts of Tanah Laut, South Hulu Sungai, Central Hulu Sungai, North Hulu Sungai, Balangan, and Tabalong.
Meanwhile, the warning status is for Banjarmasin City, Banjarbaru City, Barito Kuala District, Banjar District, and Tapin District.
The alert and warning status applies for December 11 and 12, 2021. The increasing river water volume cause flood, including landslide, rockfall, and soil erosion.
"So we remind people in disaster-prone areas to be more careful when doing activities outside homes," said Fitma.
