The South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) together with the Fisheries Agency conducted raids on the sale of baby fish and fish seeds for consumption in several markets in the district.

Head of Satpol PP H Iwan Friady in Kandangan said that the fry or fish seeds from the raid were secured and immediately returned to their habitat.

"This operation is in accordance with Law (UU) No. 45 of 2009 concerning fisheries, in addition of course to preserve the potential of fisheries in our area," he said in a statement, Thursday (9/12).

In addition, HSS also has Regional Regulation No. 17 of 2005 concerning the protection of fish resources and prohibition of catching fish with stun and potassium or the like.

"We continue to give appeals so as not to occur violation of these laws and regulations, and those who violate them will, of course, be given sanctions according to the applicable rules," he said.
