The South Kalimantan Association of Fuel Station Owners (Hiswana Migas) said that in the last six days LPG distribution, both subsidized and non-subsidized, in South Kalimantan was obstructed by road damage of Jalan Gubernur Syarkawi.

Chairman of the South Kalimantan Hiswana Migas Saibani here on Sunday said that the Jalan Gubernur Syarkawi is the main distribution route from Pertamina's LPG Depot in Barito Kuala District to several LPG Bulk Filling Station(SPBE) in Banjarmasin, Banjar, Banjarbaru, Tanah Laut, and Tanah Bumbu.

'The obstruction of the distribution line on Jalan Gubernur Syarkawi automatically hinders distribution to all areas," he said.

In fact, he added, the stock of both subsidized and non-subsidized LPG was quite abundant and sufficient for the next 10 days.

Currently, LPG stock in South Kalimantan is 3,752 metric tons more, whereas the need of its residents per day in around 400 metric tons.

"if the entire existing stock is distributed it will be sufficient for the next 9 to 10 days," he said.

Saibani hopes the provincial government and other related parties can intervene in helping the problem of LPG distribution difficulties, especially considering the fasting month of Ramadhan is two days away.

It is feared that if the distribution constraints do not get immediate attention, it could cause a fluctuation in LPG price and trigger inflation.

Due to the damaged road, he added, LPG transportation, which normally takes one day to go back and forth to several SPBE, now it took three days.

"This condition also causes drivers to get tired on the way," he pointed out.

As a result of the damage to Jalan Gubernur Syarkawi, many cars fell and even rolled, causing traffic jams to get worse. While the evacuation of cars blocking the road was also quite slow.

Meanwhile, since Sunday, he said, Pertamina independently rented Landing Craft Tank (LCT) to transport trucks loaded with LPG from Pertamina's LPG Mini Depot around the Barito Bridge.

However, these efforts could not run optimally as expected, because using LCT was constrained by the tides of the river.
