The District Government of South Hulu Sungai (HSS) is expecting the 110th TNI Integrated Village Development (TMMD) in 2021 to contribute to preventing children from dropping out of school.
For this reason, the HSS government has prepared a budget of IDR1.4 billion for the 110th TMMD, which is carried out by the Military District Command (Kodim) 1003/Kandangan in Batu Bini Village, Padang Batung Sub-district.
"The budget will be used for physical development, such as 1,300-meter long road with a six-meter width, and the construction of a bridge," said Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad when attending the TTMD virtual technical coordination meeting at the Kandangan Kodim hall.
In addition to a road and a bridge, the allocation is also for the rehabilitation of two houses, rehab of a mushala, and various counseling. The TMMD is expected to build synergy in accordance with the theme "TMMD as a form of synergy to build the country".
Commander of Kandangan Kodim Lt. Col. Armed Dedy Soehartono said the 110th will be held from March 2 to 31. Opening and closing will be carried out simply by implementing strict health protocol.
According to him, Batu Bini Village was re-selected as the location of the 110th TMMD in accordance with guidelines from the HHS Regent Achmad Fikry, who wanted to connect two hamlets, Pariangan and Malilingin.
The goal is that elementary school graduates do not have to continue to junior high school in Padang Batung, because the distance between Pariangan and Malilingin is relatively closer than having to Padang Batung.
Statistically, there are a number of children who dropped out of school because of the problem of school distances. To get to school on time, students must leave very early.
“Later, when it is connected, it can save about 45 minutes to an hour of travel. This is why we are pursuing the 110th TMMD program in order to connect Pariangan with Malilingin,” he said.
