Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Banjarmasin Police Narcotics Investigation Unit arrested ten suspected members of a drug syndicate in the capital city of South Kalimantan.


Banjarmasin Police Chief Kombes Wahyono on Tuesday states, within the last one month police succeeded in capturing slaves of drug, couriers and dealers.

In the outstanding case, ten actors, two of whom women, were arrested. "Two actors from network of Surabaya, East Java, and three actors from West Java network, and six actors of a local network," he said, accompanied by Deputy Chief of Banjarmasin Police AKBP Dwi Ariwibowo.

Drugs worth about Rp1.1 billion seized, consisting of 592.49 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 141 ecstasy pills, 59.56 grams of marijuana, 672 pills of class G.

"The illicit goods planned to be released to meet drug addicts on the lid of the year. At the moment we continue to develop the case," he said.

He emphasized that police will continue to intensify the eradication of drugs in the "city of a thousand rivers" Banjarmasin so as not to cause a lot of victim to drugs, especially the younger generation.

Chief of Narcotics Unit AKP Wildan added, within the last three months drug abuse has pretty much handled, even the suspect reached 39 people.
