After 71 days of leave, the Regent of Kotabaru H Sayed Jafar began his work by inaugurating the Islamic Boarding School of Darul Ikhsan Cantung, Sunday.

The boarding school is built on 80x100 meters land granted by residents in Sungai Kupang Village, Kelumpang Hulu Sub-district. 

According to the regent, Cantung is a religious village as well as part of the area of partition. Thus its development should be prepared, one of which is by building Islamic boarding school (pesantren).

"Indeed, many pesantren have been built here in this area, because it will produce regenerations in the future," he said.

Previously, Regent H Sayed Jafar, who took 71 days off for the election campaign, on the first day of work went straight to Telagasari Village in Kelumpang Hilir Sub-district to lay the first stone for the construction of Da'watul Haq Mosque.

The mosque is built on Jalan Gajah Mada RT 05, Telagasari Village, covering 25x25 meters. The two story building is built with a budget of IDR3.5 billion.

The ceremony was attended by DPRD Speaker Syairi Mukhlis, members of the sub-district military command (Koramil), sub-district police chief, heads of government agencies, the sub-district leaders communication forum (Forkopimca), and invitations.
