The electricity team of state high vocational school SMK Negeri 1 Paringin from Balangan, South Kalimantan, has made another achievement at the national level through their work, a short circuit safety device from flooding.

Three electrical installation engineering students, Ibrahim, Agung Heru Saputra, and M Fajar were among five national nominations at the 2020 United Tractors Guided School (SOBAT) Competition held by PT United Tractors Tbk (UT).

The teacher supervising the SMKN 1 Paringin's electricity team Izzudin Syarif said the so-called "Amank Air" device works to signal the height of flood and cuts off the electricity network at home if the flood level approaches the socket.

"This safety device also provides SMS notification to PLN regarding the location of a flood," said Izuddin.
