PT Pertamina Exploration and Production of Asset 5 Tanjung Field has promulgated oil drilling activities in Pugaan Village, Pugaan Sub-district, Tabalong.
Pertamina's Legal and Relation Assistant Manager Galih Pradikta Mochtar said the promulgation was to provide understanding to residents regarding the potential that may emerge and the mitigation that Pertamina will take to secure the operational activities and the surrounding environment to remain safe.
"This is related to PRB-002 exploration in Pugaan Village, so the residents can understand the potential that will emerge," Galih said.
The socialization included Drill Stem Test (DST) which is a procedure for isolating and testing formation to obtain data, such as pressure, permeability, fluid content and production capacity of the reservoir.
Galih added, Pugaan residents who still are unfamiliar with drilling activities received an explanation regarding oil exploration activities with the aim to avoid social conflict that may arise.
The Muspika (Sub-district consultative leadership forum), community and religious leaders also attended the socialization.

In addition, Pertamina handed over assistance to Langgar Darussa’adah of Pematang Village and Nurul Jannah Mosque of Pugaan Village with a total of IDR30 million. The assistance was handed over to the village and sub-district government of Pugaan.
PT Pertamina EP Asset 5 Tanjung Field is a subsidiary of Pertamina in Tabalong District, South Kalimantan.
From the data on Integrated Operating System in September 2020, Tanjung Field's oil production was 2,346 barrels per day (bopd), and gas 1,024 million standard cubic feet per day (mscfd).
